Deputy Executive Commissioner for Managed Care, Camisha D. Banks

Camisha D. Banks is the deputy executive commissioner for Managed Care for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She oversees program implementation and contract compliance of managed care organizations in Medicaid and CHIP Services, including the divisions of Financial Reporting and Audit Coordination, Managed Care Contracts and Oversight, and Program Enrollment and Support.

Banks joined HHSC in 2007 as a health plan specialist overseeing managed care organizations and has held roles of increasing responsibility. She has over 30 years of experience in health plan operations, health plan management, and contract oversight in both the public and private sectors and has held various leadership roles within HHSC.

She previously served as the deputy associate commissioner of Managed Care Contracts and Oversight, where she led more than 100 staff responsible for contract compliance monitoring of Medicaid and CHIP health and dental plans, independent review organizations, and demand response transportation vendors.
