Employee Spotlight Videos

HHS employees work to protect public health and provide key services to more than 7 million Texans monthly through transparency, accountability and responsiveness. Watch these spotlight videos that highlight some of those outstanding employees.

Compensation & Benefits

As an HHS employee, you receive both direct and indirect compensation, including benefits. Besides your salary, HHS pays for your health insurance, retirement contribution, longevity pay, paid time off, social security, Medicare, workers compensation and unemployment taxes.

HHS takes a conservative approach to employee compensation and focuses on resources to provide critical services to Texans. Legislation passed during the 88th Legislative Session provides for an increase in employee pay. HHS understands the need to bring employee salaries in line with the cost of living and other market considerations.
