Provider agencies receive EVV program training from HHSC and MCOs, which includes but is not limited to:

  • What is EVV and how does it work
  • Reason codes
  • EVV compliance requirements
  • EVV compliance plan scores
  • EVV policies and procedures
  • EVV standard reports
  • EVV Updates
  • Liquidated Damages/Contract Actions

Provider Agencies are responsible for training their staff on the use of EVV which includes but is not limited to:

  • What is EVV and how it works
  • Calling in and out of the EVV system
  • Documenting SAD numeric codes and calling them into the system correctly before they expire
  • Completing visit maintenance
  • Using appropriate reason codes
  • Entering correct data elements

Provider agencies receive training on the EVV system from the vendor, which includes but is not limited to:

  • How to use the EVV system
  • How to clock in and clock out  
  • How to complete visit maintenance and save reason codes to visits
  • EVV standard reports
  • Entering data elements
  • Visit schedules

All applicable provider agencies, including financial management services agencies (FMSAs), must contact the EVV vendor to set up EVV system onboarding and training no later than 30 calendar days after the effective date of the contract.
