Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode of Psychosis

Coordinated Specialty Care is designed to meet the needs of people with an early onset of psychosis. Research shows that if a person gets the right help within the first year, such as through CSC, there is a good chance they will learn to manage the illness and live a more normal life.

These services are for people ages 15–30 who have a psychotic disorder diagnosed within the past two years. People must also live in the service area of a CSC provider.

Level of Care: Early Onset

People enrolled in Coordinated Specialty Care receive mental health services through a specifically created level of care for early onset psychosis. The CSC model is team-based and provides comprehensive treatment and support services to keep people on the path to recovery. These services follow utilization management guidelines (PDF).
