Visitor Information

Regular visiting hours

  • 6 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., weekends and holidays

Visits with all children must be arranged by contacting the patient’s social worker.

Regular visitation by family and friends within clinical areas of the center may be restricted, limited or eliminated by the nurse in charge because of:

  • Potentially dangerous or disruptive situations in the area.
  • Clinical emergencies where the safety of patients, visitors or staff may be compromised.

On admission and during the patient's length of stay, the patient will be asked which visitors are allowed.

Visitors must stop at the reception desk to verify the confidentiality code before the visitation. The receptionist calls the designated unit to validate the people wishing to visit are on the patient's log of approved visitors and if there are any specific instructions.

If someone arrives at the center entrance asking to visit a patient and doesn’t have a confidentiality code or isn’t on the approved visitors list, the receptionist will call a registered nurse on the unit to see if the patient will approve the visit. At all times, care will be taken not to breach a patient's right to confidentiality by revealing that a patient is in the facility.

Patients are limited to two visitors at a time unless specific arrangements have been made for a large group or family to visit together. In this case, the receptionist will be notified of the day and time of the planned visit and the number authorized to visit.
