Research and Demonstration Projects in Texas- This section includes agencies, institutions of higher learning or resources that conduct or can help locate research and demonstration projects. These resources, which are both are national and statewide, range from mental health, growth, and development in infants and toddlers with disabilities or special needs.
ECI Collection at the Department of State Health Services Audio Visual Library - The Early Childhood Intervention collection includes videos, books, assessment instruments, audio tapes, and journals concerning children who have disabilities or developmental delays. These materials are available on a free loan basis to residents of the state of Texas for up to 10 business days. Mailing time is automatically added to the two–week loan period.
HHS Office of the Ombudsman: 877-787-8999
The HHS Office of the Ombudsman provides information about and referral to ECI services and provides information about other resources for families of children with disabilities. English- and Spanish-speaking operators answer calls from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Interpretation for other languages is also available during these hours. You can also submit your request online.
