HHSC has received federal approval of a waiver that allows the state to expand Medicaid managed care while preserving hospital funding, provides incentive payments for health care improvements and directs more funding to hospitals that serve large numbers of uninsured patients.

- HHSC is now requesting an additional 21 months of level funding for the UC and DSRIP pools, and a continuation of the managed care provisions of the 1115 Waiver, through Sept. 30, 2019. The letter requesting an additional 21 months was sent to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and has been posted. (1/31/17)
