HHSC established a Temporary Emergency Child Care Operation (TECCO) permit to enable facilities to provide care to children of essential workers. This temporary permit is valid for 60 days and may be renewed. The permit automatically terminates with the withdrawal of the emergency rule establishing this emergency permit. There are several rules that also establish certain requirements each TECCO must comply with relating to health and safety standards.
