Legislative Reports

The Nursing Facility Quality Review (NFQR) is a statewide process used by DADS to benchmark and trend the progress of quality of care and the quality of life for nursing home residents. The data collected by the NFQR helps DADS track progress in quality improvement activities and formulate strategies to improve both the quality of long-term services and supports and clinical outcomes of individuals.

Long Term Services and Supports Quality Review (LTSSQR) provides summary results from interviews with adults who receive waiver program services and the results of mail surveys received from families of children who receive waiver program services. These survey processes are used by DADS to benchmark the quality of its programs for long-term services and supports. Over time, the data will reveal opportunities for program improvements and the capability to measure the impact of those improvements.

The Long Term Care Early Warning System is a report on the risk assessment tool used to identify nursing facilities most likely to need the technical assistance that is available through the quality outreach included in Senate Bill 1839, (77th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2001).
