Greta Rymal is deputy executive commissioner for financial services for the Texas Health and Human Services system. She is responsible for overall financial management of all health and human services agencies. Rymal served as the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) director of budget and fiscal policy before assuming her current position.

Before coming to HHSC, she spent 29 years with the Legislative Budget Board (LBB) in various jobs, including assistant director. From 1999 to 2008, Rymal was Washington liaison, first for the LBB and then HHSC, working on fiscal issues that affect state expenditures or revenues. While her duties primarily related to health and human services, she also worked on tax policy issues.

Rymal has a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Austin College, where she was an Austin Scholar (Honors Program). She also has a master's degree in public affairs from The University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs. She has completed the Governor's Executive Development Program.
