Bowden Hight is deputy executive commissioner for information technology and chief information officer for the Texas Health and Human Services system. His information technology career spans almost 30 years in both the public and private sectors. Before joining the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in 2011, he served as director of information technology services at the Railroad Commission of Texas.

His career in public service started through the private sector while working at Andersen Consulting, and later at Allied Consultants, where he served in various project and contract management roles for client agencies including the Texas State Treasury, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Texas Department of Human Services, and the Office of the Attorney General.

Hight has a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
