Chief Operating Officer, Maurice McCreary Jr.

Maurice McCreary Jr. is chief operating officer for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. As COO, McCreary oversees three agency divisions — Procurement and Contracting Services, Information Technology and System Support Services.

McCreary previously worked in Doha, the capital of Qatar, as the interim chief executive officer of Hamad General Hospital. He also served as an associate project director for the hospital and research center Sidra Medicine in Doha.

Before working overseas, McCreary served as director of operations for the University of Maryland Medical System.

McCreary earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland in College Park. He received certification in data science and analytics from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, and completed the Advanced Management and Leadership Program of the University of Oxford Saïd Business School.
