Board for Evaluation of Interpreters Advisory Committee

The Board for Evaluation of Interpreters is a seven-member advisory committee appointed by the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission or the Executive Commissioner's designee, to assist in administering the interpreter certification program. The committee also helps develop the qualifications for each level of certification based on proficiency.

Members

Kristina Arellano  
Hearing, holds a valid BEI Advanced or Master certificate, and has actively engaged in the profession of interpreting for at least three of the immediate past five years.

Lee Godbold  
Hearing and holds a valid BEI Advanced or Master certificate.

Raychelle Harris  
Deaf, a consumer of interpreting services, demonstrates knowledge of the field of interpreting and linguistics, and has a unique understanding for the demographics and dynamics of Texas' Deaf Community.

Martin Vasquez  
Hearing, court-certified and holds a valid BEI Advanced or Master certificate.

Jose-Ovi Velasquez  
Deaf, a consumer of interpreting services, demonstrates knowledge of the field of interpreting and linguistics, and has a unique understanding for the demographics and dynamics of Texas' Deaf Community.

Alaina Webb  
Hearing, court-certified and holds a valid BEI Advanced or Master certificate.
