Gov. Abbott Announces Protective Health and Safety Measures for Long-Term Care, Hospitals and Child Care Operations

Gov. Greg Abbott today declared a state of disaster in Texas due to the novel coronavirus COVID-19, and announced protective health and safety measures affecting long-term care facilities, hospitals, and child care operations, which are licensed and regulated by Texas Health and Human Services. These measures also apply to state-operated facilities.

Texas HHS is working closely with providers to ensure Texas is prepared and operations can quickly implement the new requirements and protect the health, safety and well-being of people throughout the state. Check the HHS COVID-19 page for the latest updates for providers and the public.
