2019 Texercise Challenge

You are invited to participate in the 2019 Texercise Challenge!

Texercise is a statewide health initiative of Texas Health and Human Services that educates and involves people age 45 and older in physical activities, proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle behavior. Long-term care facility residents will benefit by participating, too.

Texercise Classic is a free, modifiable, 12-week program that brings people together to engage in physical activity and discuss a variety of health topics. Texercise provides participating host sites with the tools necessary to run the program, as well as free reinforcement items (pedometers, resistance bands, and t-shirts) for participants.

Texercise Select is a free, evidence-based, 10-week program. Classes meet twice a week and include interactive educational discussions and physical activities. The goal is to build confidence in engaging in regular physical activity and good nutrition. A facilitator must be trained and certified through the free online Texercise training.

Register here to attend a Texercise webinar on Tuesday, June 25 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. to learn how you, your organization and residents can participate in the statewide 2019 Texercise Challenge.
