The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is currently tracking a tropical disturbance moving into the Gulf of Mexico. They indicate a tropical depression could form on Thursday or Friday and potentially affect the Gulf coast as early as this weekend. In light of recent heavy rainfall across the state, please be on high-alert as any additional rain coming inland could quickly create dangerous flash flooding conditions.
We want to provide you with a few reminders as this storm approaches:
- Stay alert to weather reports in your area and heed warnings and evacuations from local officials
- Be aware of potential power outages
- Have plenty of water and food supply available
- Review and implement your emergency preparedness plans, if necessary
In the event of evacuation, relocation, or any incident that renders your operation or any foster homes unsafe, please notify your licensing representative or contact the Abuse and Neglect Hotline at 1-800-252-5400.
Thank you for your care and service to Texas children. Stay safe.
