Applies to: Child-Placing Agencies and General Residential Operations
The purpose of this email is to notify you of two significant changes made to the online Child Care Licensing Account and the Search Texas Child Care website made on August 26, 2018.
Foster Family Home Capacity Changes
On July 29, 2018 a change to §749.2551(b) became effective, which allows a Child-Placing Agency, in certain situations, to increase the capacity of a foster family home with two caregivers to seven or eight children. To support this change, you will now have the ability to change a foster family home's capacity to seven or eight through your online Child Care Licensing Account.
Additionally, the option to submit a foster group home or change a foster family home to a foster group home is no longer available.
Child Care Licensing added a new feature to the Search Texas Child Care website to provide clearer information to parents about how a provider corrected a deficiency that Licensing cited during an inspection, assessment, or investigation.
For each deficiency, the website will display one of the following:
- If the provider corrected the deficiency, how the provider corrected the deficiency and the date Licensing evaluated the correction;
- If the provider did not correct the deficiency, the date Licensing re-cited the deficiency; or
- If the provider was granted an extension to correct the deficiency, the date Licensing granted the extension.
Correction results will only display for corrections Licensing evaluated on or after August 26, 2018.
We will continue to notify you as changes are made to the CCL website.
