For individuals whose permanent residence on Aug. 25, 2017 was in a county declared a federal disaster area because of Hurricane Harvey, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission can implement extensions of eligibility and plan of care authorizations for individuals on a case-by-case basis.

An information letter will be released soon explaining responsibilities for updating the LOC and plan of care.

CLASS or DBMD

For CLASS or DBMD, if an individual’s level of care and plan of care expired in August, September, October or November, an extension can be requested by a CLASS case management agency or DBMD program provider. Requests for an LOC extension are submitted to HHSC’s Intellectual/Developmental Disability Program Eligibility and Support unit. 

CLASS LOC and Plan of Care Extensions

  • LOC extensions can be requested by a CLASS CMA by contacting IDD PES at 512-438-2484
  • Plan of Care extensions can be requested by a CLASS CMA by contacting IDD UR at 512-438-4896

DBMD LOC and Plan of Care Extensions

  • LOC extensions and Plan of Care extensions can be requested by a DBMD program provider by contacting IDD UR at 512-438-4896

HCS or TxHmL

For HCS or TxHmL, if an individual’s LOC and Individual Plan of Care  expired in August, September, October or November, an extension can be requested by an HCS program provider or by a LIDDA service coordinator for an individual in TxHmL. Requests for an LOC extension are submitted to HHSC’s IDD PES unit. Requests for an IPC extension are submitted to HHSC’s IDD UR unit.

HCS LOC and IPC Extensions

  • LOC extensions can be requested by an HCS program provider by contacting IDD PES at 512-438-2484
  • IPC extensions can be requested by an HCS program provider by contacting IDD UR at 512-438-5055

TxHmL LOC and IPC Extensions

  • LOC extensions can be requested by LIDDA service coordinator by contacting IDD PES at 512-438-2484
  • IPC extensions can be requested by a LIDDA service coordinator by contacting IDD UR at 512-438-5055
