Informal Comments on Draft Rules for Individualized Skills and Socialization Due March 21

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Long-term Care Regulation (LTCR) is currently accepting feedback from stakeholders regarding proposed revisions to Texas Administrative Code, Title 26, Chapter 559, Subchapter H – Licensure rules for Individualized Skills and Socialization.

The informal comment period ends March 21, 2024.

Comment on Proposed and Draft Rules

The proposed new and amended rules will:

  • Increase regulatory oversight by providing clarification on current practice regarding reporting requirements for abuse, neglect, exploitation, provider requirements, and criteria for denying a license or renewal of a license.
  • Strengthen protection for individuals receiving Individualized Skills and Socialization services, including new sections for environmental conditions and client rights.
  • Enhance enforcement mechanisms by incorporating Administrative Penalties as an alternative to licensure revocation.
